Day 01: Lima – Tarapoto

Day 02: Catarata de Ahuashiyacu + Lamas
Breakfast at the hotel.
09:00 a.m. – Excursion to Catarata de Ahuashiyacu, located in the Área de Conservación Regional Cordillera Escalera, 14 km from Tarapoto on the road to Yurimaguas.
We’ll make a brief stop at a viewpoint to appreciate the natural beauty of the area before heading to the waterfall’s entrance. From there, we’ll start a 15-minute walk along a trail of stone steps and wooden bridges leading to the impressive 35-meter high crystal-clear waterfall. It is the most accessible and popular waterfall in the region, with a pool of varying depths suitable even for children.
The surrounding vegetation, including trees and ferns, adds a unique charm.
Around 3:00 p.m., we’ll begin our tour to Lamas, a province 25 km from Tarapoto. This ancient town is home to descendants of the Chancas, who took refuge in the Amazon after being defeated by the Incas.
The lamistas were resettled about 100 years after the Spanish conquest and today preserve their customs, traditions, language (Quechua), and ethnic identity.
We will stop at the Castillo de Lamas for photos and sightseeing, and then visit the Quechua-speaking native community, where we will enjoy traditional music and dance. The tour includes a chance to view a wide variety of local handicrafts.
Return to Tarapoto at the scheduled time.

Day 03: Return
Breakfast. Free morning to enjoy hotel facilities. This is a great time to visit local chocolate and cigar factories.
At the appropriate time, transfer to the airport for departure.
