Lima is the capital of Peru, located on the central coast of the country. It is a modern yet colonial city, known for its cuisine, history, and vibrant cultural life.
Day 01: Lima – City Tour Lima
Arrival in Lima and hotel check-in.
We begin our city tour by picking up passengers from their hotels at the scheduled time. We will explore the modern districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. Parque Kennedy is the heart of Miraflores, surrounded by bars, restaurants, art galleries, and handicraft shops. We’ll stop at Parque del Amor, where Víctor Delfín’s sculpture El Beso and the Gaudí-style mosaic benches have become city icons.
Along the way, we’ll observe panoramic views of major archaeological sites like the pyramids of Huaca Pucllana and Huaca Huallamarca, nestled between buildings and houses. Then we head to Lima’s historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, rich with colonial history.
Panoramic walking tour: Plaza Mayor, Catedral, Arzobispado de Lima, Palacio de Gobierno, Municipal Palace, Convento de Santo Domingo, and Iglesia de San Francisco.
We’ll enter Convento de Santo Domingo, final resting place of Santa Rosa de Lima, San Martín de Porres, and San Juan Masías. This grand convent holds a vast library with incunabula—books printed before the 16th century—and its chapter hall was where Universidad de San Marcos, the first university in the Americas, was founded.
After photos, we return to the hotel.
